Marissa and I have known each other for years. We first met when we worked for the same tea shop and I am grateful we became friends from the experience. Getting together for happy hour let’s us get caught up on all of life’s crazy ride, and the meeting usually comes when we need it most. Marissa has a caring heart and is willing to help any way she can, as evident from her work in fundraising and how she is with her family and friends. I am so glad Marissa could be a part of these T-shirt Tuesday posts!
A little about Marissa:
Why is this your favorite t-shirt?: This t-shirt represents so much more to me than just my favorite school. My whole family has always been Wildcat fans, especially my grandmother who passed away a few years ago. I would always call her after games, I loved hearing her passion. I also graduated from the UofA in 2006 which was one of my biggest dreams. Growing up, my mom was a single parent and I often watched her struggle and have to work incredibly hard. From a young age, I always promised her I would get my degree so I could always take care of myself. To achieve that goal was an incredible milestone for me. I hope my mom and grandma know what inspirations they were for me to obtain it.
Tell me a little about yourself: My name is Marissa and I work in fundraising at a local children’s hospital. I’m married to my best friend and a mama to a feisty three year old. I love to be creative and I’m helplessly addicted to Pinterest projects. I am so inspired by other women featured on #TshirtTuesday who use their talents to create and run their own businesses. I’m hoping I focus my talents to do the same!
