Sometimes people enter your life and you have no idea how meeting them will impact you.  Megan was one of these people.  I did her makeup for her class reunion one Saturday at work.  We started talking and before you knew it, I was booked to do makeup for her wedding in California.  I was so grateful our paths crossed, and even more so that I get to know Megan more each time we chat.

A little about Megan:

Why is this your favorite t-shirt?:  I’m super blessed to have such a close group of girlfriends in my life. We call ourselves the “LIG Crew” aka Life is Good Crew. It started out with a group of 5 of us, my two older sisters, our two friends that are also sisters, and me. We’ve all known each other for 20+ years and over time added 4 more ladies to our squad. Most of us have matching “Life is Good” tattoo’s, but some will have to earn that commitment before getting permanent artwork on their body (Stephanie know’s this story ha). Every time I wear a Life is Good t-shirt it just reminds me how lucky I am to have such an amazing bond with 9 wonderful ladies.

Tell me a little about yourself:  Hi, my name is Megan and I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. At the age of two, I started competing all over the world doing a type of dance called clogging. For those of you who do not know, clogging is a mixture of Tap and Riverdance. For the past 25 years, my clogging team hosted an annual competition and we had our final one last month . Even though I don’t compete anymore, it will always be a huge part of my life.

I have a very strong work ethic and have always been quite the workaholic. I started working a week after I turned 15 at a local restaurant called Barro’s Pizza. While there, I would make pizzas, run the cash register, and help deliver pizzas to the customers. Throughout my time in school, I continued working at the pizza place. When I graduated from North Canyon High, I received a job opportunity to work in their preschool room and athletic department. I spent many years there and accepting the job was the best decision in my life because that is where I ended up meeting my fiancé. He was an english teacher and basketball coach.

Being a “Zonie” as the Californians call us, and growing up in the desert, we always had an appreciation for the beach. I would frequently travel to San Diego in the summer and ever since I was little, I can remember always wanting to move there. Two years ago, my dream came true as my fiancé and I finally made it happen. We quit our jobs with the school district, found a place to live, and moved to the beach without any employment opportunities. Everyone thought we were crazy moving without anything lined up, but guess what, we are proving them wrong each day as we are going on our third year. We are both loving life and have two amazing jobs working in the education field.

Last August, shortly after celebrating year one in San Diego, my fiancé Peter finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We will be getting married this October and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
