The House at Secret Garden Wedding

It was a beautiful October day doing makeup at The House at Secret Garden in Phoenix for Candice and her wedding party and family.  I loved how elegant and classically gorgeous her style was.  From the dress to the flowers and her makeup.  All came together and the pictures speak for themselves.

It was great working with Candice on her day!

“Stephanie Nault will make you look STUNNING on your special day! I can’t say enough about Stephanie. She was simply amazing! Professional, reliable, friendly and talented. She made me feel so BEAUTIFUL on my special day! She was so easy to get a hold of and fun to be around. She made you feel at ease. She knew exactly how I wanted my makeup without me having to show a picture. She also did my bridesmaid’s makeup, my mother & my mother-in-law and they all looked beautiful. She’s your girl! Thanks Stephanie for making me feel like a million bucks. :)”

Thank you again Candice!

Happy New Year to You!

Happy New Year!  What a great time to make a few resolutions, wake up everyday and find gratitude in what you do, and for me go do a photo shoot! I met Nikki through Erica, the photographer. It was a great January morning and we were all ready to have a great shoot.  We met in downtown Phoenix, Arizona and from the pictures, the back drop was perfect for a new year’s celebration!  Thank you for a great time ladies! I had a lot of fun doing makeup.

I love how these turned out!

2012: With Gratitude and Thanks

I am so GRATEFUL to the photographers, brides, designers, models, friends, family, actors, directors and everyone who has booked me this year.  I LOVE what I do, and for you to allow me to be a part of your day or project means quite a lot.  You BELIEVED in me and my skills, and TRUSTED I was able to do the job.

Being a makeup artist means more than showing up, flinging makeup and getting everyone dolled up.  For me, I have seen how it changes someones day, their confidence and their LIFE.  Creating with someone to achieve a look can get them into character for a role, or mentally get them ready to walk down the aisle.  Makeup, as insignificant or dramatic as the situation calls, has the power to envoke emotion and means something different to everyone.

When I started doing makeup in 2004, I had no idea how greatly it would influence my life.  For the first time I had a drive, a focus and a direction.  What started as a job became something that I question where I would be without it today.  The experience I gained through years of application and classes opened great doors for me.   I have met the most amazing individuals that have become great friends and counterparts.

So once again I THANK YOU. I could not be here without the help of my clients and friends who support me and the work that I do.  Here’s to an abundant and optimistic 2013 for one and all!

All In A Days Work

Mid December in Arizona can go one of two ways: pleasantly nice, or horribly cold.  Lucky for Katy and photographer John from Images by JV, they had a great day to shoot!  I have been working with John for a few years now.  He is extremely professional and takes great shots. I appreciate being able to show up and have a place to work and in end having some great additons to my portfolio.  Here are a few photos from the shoot.

A Great Day For An Engagement Session

I was introduced to Sumie through her photographer and my friend, Sara Johnson.  I was really excited to be a part of an engagement session, and even more when I found out where it was going to be.  A fun, quiet field in Mesa, Arizona.  The couple had a relaxed October evening to have a great time celebrating an exciting new chapter in their lives.  The pictures were great! I had a hard time choosing my favorites.

Jennyvi Dizon Couture

Trying to figure out when I first met Jennyvi took a lot of thought.  I feel like I have known her forever but it was more like three years.  Her personality is inflectious.  I can probably count how many times she has not had a smile on her face on one hand, and that was because she was deep in thought.  I am truly grateful I met this strong, creative woman who inspires me to do amazing makeup for her shoots.  Together we have done a handful of  photo shoots with a few different photographers, had our combined efforts printed,  and have traveled all over the valley and beyond to get the perfect shots.  Stay tuned for pictures of our newest shoot scheduled in March 2013!

What a great group of ladies to work with!

A September Wedding in the Yard

I loved being a part of this wedding!  Jamie contacted me through a mutual friend and from the beginning it was a great relationship between bride and makeup artist.  For anyone who has met or worked with me will tell you that I fully support a bride looking like herself on her wedding day.  And when Jamie told me she wanted a minimal amount of makeup because she does not wear a lot on a daily basis, I listened.  Stating my disclaimer of needing enough for pictures, we agreed on a natural look with airbrush makeup.  The application would be flawless but feel light, and her eyes would pop in the pictures.

Showing up on the morning of the wedding was like walking into the most ideal situation a makeup artist of over 8 years could dream of.  A phenomenal group of ladies-sister, friends, mom, aunts-with the most welcoming and warm energy I have truly felt from a wedding party.  I was so grateful for the experience and as a result everyone had a great time and the makeup fell right into place.

The pictures show how the unique ideas of the bride came across.  Earth tones with each of the bridesmaids choosing their own dresses.  And it was beautiful!

Congratulations to the happy newlyweds!

Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2012

The weekend of September 15 and 16, I headed to Los Angeles to support the Western X webseries at Stan Lee’s Comikaze.  It was a great time! Meeting new people and helping out with photo documenting.  Once again, we had a good turnout of Western X supporters, cast and crew.   I truly enjoy working with these people on set, and on other projects.  I am so happy to be a part of this project.

The one and only: Stan Lee.

This was one of my favorite things at Comikaze.  Wall e!  I had read an article about inventors creating this little guy and then there he was!  Very cool! Here is the article:

This kid knew his stuff!  A dead ringer for Gonzo’s voice.  It was a lot of fun!

Myself and Victoria Paege chatting with Gonzo.

Dan “Dice” Narciso, Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) and myself.  She looks stunning with and without her Elvira makeup!

The time and energy people put into these cons proves successful! They look great!

A great time in LA!

A Model in the Making

I love an early morning photo shoot in the valley!  And especially since it was an early June morning in Arizona, shoots start and end early.  This Saturday morning I made the drive to Mesa, Arizona to work with Michelle Herrick photography and our model, Justine.  These ladies were a lot of fun.  It was great that Justine had several outfit choices which is a must for an up and coming model.  Giving options to work with always has a better outcome.  We decided to do a more natural makeup for Justine on these headshots. She is hoping to submit these to an agency.  I love how they turned out! A great reflection of Justine’s personality.

Wedding on the Greens

Amanda was a bride I did makeup for in March for her wedding.  She had one of those personalities where you want to be friends with her after the role of makeup artist is over.   A beautiful wedding at Starfire Golf Club with a ceremony on the greens and the reception following in the main clubhouse.  It was a pleasure to do makeup for these ladies.

I love the simplicity of the bridesmaids bouquets and the genius idea of using brooches for the bride’s! (Note to self…)

“Working with Stephanie was fantastic. She not only did a great job, she was fun to work with, always on time, and VERY affordable. My bridesmaids and I looked like a million bucks!”

Thank you Amanda!
